Our Lord says: "As your measure to others it shall be measured to you". The Holy Souls will not forget those who opened their prison gates; they render us a thousand fold for our prayers; and when they are released, they pray prostrate before the Throne of God unceasingly, until we are safely Home in Heaven. They will lessen our Purgatory. And ever time we pray for a soul in Purgatory, that soul can see us.

YOUR CHALLENGE
Many years ago after visiting with a gentlemen about St Gertrude, I added her prayer between the Decades of the Holy Rosary for the month of November in honor of the Holy Souls. Soon it became a habit and to this day I pray the St. Gertrude prayer after each decade. We offer this Prayer Card (shown on right) and are thankful to Joanne Von Zwehl for her Flames of Mercy Art that was commissioned originally by our inspired Holy Souls creator of this card. info@walkingword.org
The Church of the Sacred Heart of Suffrage in Rome is a monument in honor of the mercy of the divine-human Heart of Christ for the souls in Purgatory and, at the same time, an invitation to the faithful to practice charity for them in union with His merciful heart the devotion to the suffering souls is inextricably linked to the devotion of the Sacred Heart. (from the Hungry Souls book) it continues?St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, the apostle of the devotion to the Sacred Heart said that the revelations she received about the suffering in these souls, regarded our Lord?s tender love for them and His eager desire for their deliverance, of the great efficacy of the devotion to the Sacred Heart for their early release, and that fact that (she) combined these two devotions so intimately in her own person?.there is such a close connection between the two devotions that the devotion to the souls in Prgatory may be said to form a part of the devotion to the Sacred Heart.
St Theresa of Avila said that "She always obtained the favours which she asked from God, through the intercession of the Poor Souls in Purgatory."
St. John Vianney said: "If one knew what we may obtain from God by the intercession of the Poor Souls, they would not be so much abandoned. Let us pray a great deal for them, they will pray for us."
It is a holy and wholesome thing to pray for the dead, that they may be loosed from their sins.? (II Macab. XII., 46) We have carefully collected information, prayer cards, books and sacramental's that are powerful tools in our prayer efforts.
A prayer which would release 1000 souls from purgatory each time it is said. Our Lord, You told St. Gertrude the GREAT that the following prayer would release 1000 souls from Purgatory each time it is said. The prayer was extended to include living sinners as well:
"Eternal Father, I offer You the most precious blood of Your Divine Son, Jesus, in union with all the Holy Masses said throughout the world today, for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home
and within my own family. Amen."
